From the shores of Loch Lomond to the dramatic landscapes of Oban and Kilchurn Castle, this tour offers a mix of natural beauty, historical landmarks, and stunning viewpoints.
Stop 1: Luss
Your journey begins in Luss, a village on the shores of Loch Lomond, known for its cobbled streets and cute cottages. Take a stroll through Scotland’s loveliest village down to the famous Bonnie Banks, enjoying spectacular views of the water and the surrounding hills. This is the perfect place for photos!Driving from Luss to the Three Sisters of Glencoe, you’ll be blown away by the sights and the history the area holds. We’ll be driving alongside the West Highland Way, a very popular 96-mile hike from Milngavie to Fort William, so make sure to wave to the hikers! You’ll pass Dalrigh, a site of great significance in Scottish history and learn of Robert the Bruce’s narrow escape from the MacDougall Clan.
Stop 2: Three Sisters Viewpoint
Continue your journey to the Three Sisters Viewpoint, located in Glencoe. This iconic location offers breathtaking panoramic views of the three towering peaks known as the Three Sisters of Glencoe. These mountains have featured in numerous films, including James Bond’s Skyfall, and offer an incredible photo opportunity amongst some of Scotland’s most dramatic landscapes.We’ll now drive along the shores of Loch Linnhe, a sea loch, following it to Castle Stalker.
Stop 3: Castle Stalker Viewpoint
Next, visit the Castle Stalker Viewpoint, where you’ll be treated to a stunning view of Castle Stalker, a medieval fortress on an island in Loch Laich. This picturesque location is a favourite for photographers and has also appeared in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Capture the perfect shot of this fairy-tale castle with the beautiful surroundings.Jumping back in the van, you’ll now take the scenic drive down the West coast to Oban. Crossing over the Connel Bridge, you’ll be minutes away from exploring this vibrant seaside town!
Stop 4: Oban
Arriving in Oban, known as the "Gateway to the Isles”, you’ll enjoy a delightful lunch stop, where you can sample fresh seafood or other Scottish delicacies at one of the local restaurants. Spend some time exploring the town, with its beautiful harbour, Victorian buildings, and breathtaking coastal views.Feeling full from your tasty lunch, you’ll then journey to your next and last stop of the tour. The roads you’ll travel will bless you with incredible mountain views while driving along Loch Awe, Scotland’s longest freshwater loch, before arriving at Kilchurn Castle.
Stop 6: Kilchurn Castle
The final stop of your journey is the spectacular Kilchurn Castle, located on the shores of Loch Awe. This ruined castle is one of Scotland’s most photographed sites, with its dramatic location and history dating back to the 15th century.Stop 7: Green Welly Shop – Toilet Break in Tyndrum
Before heading back to Glasgow, we’ll make a brief stop at the GreenWelly Shop in Tyndrum, a well-known stop for travelers. This is the perfect opportunity for a break and to stretch your legs. What should I bring on the Day Tour?
As the weather can be unpredictable at time in Scotland, for your day tour we recommend you bring light waterproof clothing and sturdy hiking boots or shoes. You may also want to bring midge repellent as during certain times of year (primarily April - September) the midges may irritate you. If you’re lucky enough to get a nice sunny day, then some sun cream would be great. If it’s during the colder months, then some warm clothing, gloves and a hat may also be useful.
When should I arrive for the Glencoe & Oban Day Tour?
We ask all clients to arrive at least 15 minutes early for your trip around Glencoe & Oban, this ensures a prompt departure. Is there Parking near the Glasgow Departure location?
Yes, there’s parking near the departure point for your Glencoe & Oban Day Tour. It’s at Buchanan Galleries Shopping Centre and is a multi-story private parking facility and they do charge for parking. It will take you approximately 5 minutes to walk from the parking facility to the Glencoe & Oban Day Tour start location.
How long will I be out the vehicle?
On the Glencoe & Oban Day Tour, there’ll be plenty of time out of the vehicle so you can really make the most of your day. This will be to enjoy some hiking, marvel at some beautiful waterfalls, have lunch and take photos of the beautiful mountainous landscape
Do you have any age restrictions?
For our scheduled day tours, we have a minimum age limit of 12 years old.
If you have children under 12 who you’d like to take on a Day Tour, we recommend getting in touch info@scotlandswild.comand asking about a fully private tour for you and your group.
Should I bring Lunch?
There will be no need to bring any lunch as you’ll be stopping off at Oban for lunch!
Can I take luggage with me?
On the Glencoe & Oban Day Tour, there is space for everyone to have a rucksack or handbag so you can carry your essentials. If you have a suitcase or any form of larger luggage, then do get in touch before booking to find out if we still have space to store it during your trip.
Will there be plenty of bathroom breaks?
On the Glencoe & Oban Day Tour, there will be plenty of locations to stop to use the facilities. We won’t ever be that far away.
Should I tip my Scotland Tour Guide/Driver?
If you believe your Scotland Tour Guide/Driver provided you with a great experience then I know they will always appreciate a wee bonus, though it is completely up to you on how much you tip or if you’d like to provide one
What’s your Day Tour Cancellation Policy?
Any cancellation for our Glencoe & Scottish Highlands Day Tour, 8 or more days before the tour start day, you will be issued a full refund
Cancelling between 4 and 7 days before the tour start date you will be issued a 50% refund and cancelling within 3 days of the tour, full payment is needed

If you are late for your tour, the cancellation policy will apply. If on the day, you believe you will be late, do get in touch as soon as possible on +44 131 241 8292 and we will see about getting you on another tour if there is availability. This is not a guarantee though
Do I have Travel Insurance Provided?
We don’t provide travel insurance, though we highly recommend taking out appropriate travel insurance for any vacation to Scotland
