Do the Skye tours leave from Edinburgh and Glasgow?
Yes. Scheduled 3, 5 and 7-day Skye adventures are available with departures from both Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The exact meeting point and check-in time depends on the itinerary, so always check the individual tour page and your booking confirmation.
Do Glasgow Skye tours return to Glasgow?
The current Glasgow versions of our 3, 5 and 7-day Skye itineraries begin in Glasgow and finish in Edinburgh rather than returning to Glasgow.
Keep this in mind when arranging accommodation, trains, flights or onward travel after your tour.
Is accommodation included in the tour price?
No. Accommodation is separate from the advertised tour price, giving you more flexibility over style and budget.
You can ask Scotland’s Wild to arrange accommodation through trusted partners or book your own after confirming the correct accommodation area with us.
If arranging your own accommodation, contact us before booking because collection and drop-off need to remain practical for the group.
How do I secure my place?
Our current multi-day scheduled Skye tours can be secured with a 25% deposit.
The remaining balance is due 15 days before departure and is automatically collected using the payment method attached to your booking.
What is the minimum age for the Isle of Skye tours?
Scheduled group Skye tours are currently for travellers aged 12 and over.
If you are travelling with younger children, a private Scotland tour may be a better option because it can be organised around your own group.
Explore Private Scotland ToursHow much walking is involved?
These are Active Sightseeing tours, so short walks and meaningful time outside the vehicle are deliberately built into the experience.
You should be comfortable walking for up to around an hour on uneven outdoor ground. Paths can be wet, rocky, muddy or slippery depending on the weather.
You do not need to be an experienced hiker, but sturdy footwear and a reasonable level of mobility are important.
Is Dunvegan Castle open all year?
No. Dunvegan Castle & Gardens operates seasonally and is normally closed during the winter months.
Attraction opening dates can change, and weather, road conditions or local access can also affect the exact Skye itinerary.
Your guide will use the best suitable route and stops available on the day.
Are castle and Loch Ness tickets included?
Most optional attraction admissions are currently paid separately from the advertised tour price.
Depending on your itinerary, this can include Dunvegan Castle, Eilean Donan Castle, Loch Ness cruises and other optional paid experiences.
The seven-day itinerary includes the ferry journeys needed to travel between Skye and the Outer Hebrides.

What should I pack for Skye?
Skye weather can change quickly, even during summer. Layers are generally more useful than relying on one heavy item of clothing.
