How long is this Stirling Castle tour from Glasgow?
It’s a shorter day than most of our tours, about 7 hours. Check in at 8:45am at 17 Killermont Street for a 9:00am departure, and we’re back in Glasgow at approximately 4:10pm. Stirling Castle is the first stop, followed by Balmaha on Loch Lomond and Glengoyne Distillery.
What does the tour cost?
From £90 per adult (50% deposit, balance 8 days before departure). Prices vary by date. Castle admission and the whisky experience are paid separately.
Is there a youth price?
Yes. Travellers aged 12 to 17 pay a youth price, from £80, and must travel with an adult. The calendar shows the youth price for your date when you choose your travellers.
Is Stirling Castle admission included?
No. Stirling Castle admission is paid separately from the tour price.
Is the Glengoyne whisky experience included?
No. Distillery admission and whisky tasting are bought separately, which gives you flexibility over the experience available for your departure.

Will the tour run if only a few people book?
Each departure needs at least 4 travellers to run. If we have to cancel your tour for any reason, we’ll offer you another tour or a full refund.
How do I secure my place, and what is the cancellation policy?
A 50% deposit is taken when you book; the balance is collected automatically 8 days before departure. Cancellations 8 or more days before departure: full refund. 3 to 7 days before: 50% refund. Less than 3 days before, or a no-show: no refund. Full terms & conditions.
Where and when does the tour depart, and when is it back?
Check in at 8:45am at 17 Killermont Street, Glasgow, G2 3NX, outside the Royal Concert Hall, for a 9:00am departure. We’re back at approximately 4:10pm; traffic and conditions can affect this, so avoid tightly timed onward travel.
Is there parking near the departure point?
Buchanan Galleries car park is about a five-minute walk from the meeting point. Parking charges apply.
How much walking is involved?
The Loch Lomond stop includes about 45–60 minutes of walking. The optional Craigie Fort route has a short uphill section, so you should be comfortable walking outdoors for around an hour in sturdy footwear.
What should I wear and bring?
Waterproofs, warm layers and comfortable sturdy shoes or boots. Midge repellent can be useful in season, and sun cream on brighter days.
Are food and drinks included?
No. Lunch, snacks, whisky and other drinks aren’t included. There’s normally time to buy lunch at Stirling Castle, where vegetarian and vegan choices are usually available. For strict gluten-free or complex dietary needs, a packed lunch is recommended.
How much luggage can I bring?
As this is a day tour, please bring only a small day bag where possible. Contact us before departure if you need to bring larger luggage so we can confirm space.
Are there age limits?
The minimum age is 12. If you’re travelling with children under 12, ask us about a private tour.
Will there be bathroom breaks?
Yes. Regular comfort stops are planned through the day, and your guide will explain when the next facilities are.
What happens if bad weather affects the itinerary?
The tour normally runs in Scotland’s changeable weather, so rain alone doesn’t mean cancellation. Safety comes first, and weather, road or attraction closures can mean your guide alters the route, timings or stops.
