Your Inverness Meeting Point

Meet Outside Starbucks at Rose Street

Our scheduled group tours departing from Inverness currently meet outside Starbucks at Rose Street Retail Park in the city centre. Use the location information below and check your booking confirmation for the check-in time applying to your particular tour.

i
Google Maps and what3words serve slightly different purposes here

The blue Google Maps button above takes you to Starbucks at Rose Street, where the tour meets. The what3words address ///carry.rubble.foam identifies the entrance to the Rose Street Retail Park car park rather than the exact square outside Starbucks.

Arrive 15 minutes before your departure time

Our Inverness tours do not all leave at exactly the same time. Please use the check-in and departure time on your individual tour page and booking confirmation.

Current Inverness tours start and finish in Inverness

Our current 3-Day Lewis & Harris and 3-Day Orkney tours both return to this Inverness meeting area on Day 3. Expected arrival is approximately 5–6pm, but ferry schedules, weather, traffic and road conditions can affect the exact return time.

Parking Near the Meeting Point

There are several parking areas around Rose Street, but the retail-park car park and the council multi-storey are separate facilities with different terms.

Meeting Point Area Rose Street Retail Park Car Park

Starbucks is located at Rose Street Retail Park, which has its own privately operated car park. Parking conditions, tariffs and permitted stays are controlled by the car-park operator rather than Scotland's Wild.

Do not assume retail-park parking is suitable for leaving your vehicle for the full duration of a multi-day tour.

Check retail-park parking information →
P
Parking is not included with your tour

Scotland's Wild does not operate either car park and cannot guarantee availability, tariffs, security or parking conditions. Check the operator's current information before leaving a vehicle for several days.

Departure Morning Checklist

Check Your Tour Time

Our Inverness departures have different check-in times. Use your booking confirmation.

Arrive 15 Minutes Early

Allow additional time if you are parking or travelling into Inverness that morning.

Look for Starbucks

The current landmark is Starbucks at Rose Street Retail Park. Do not rely on older directions mentioning other shops.

Check Your Luggage

Both current Inverness scheduled tours are multi-day journeys and vehicle luggage space is limited.

Prepare for Island Weather

Bring comfortable footwear, warm layers and waterproof clothing suitable for your itinerary.

Keep Your Phone Available

Check the telephone number on your booking is correct and keep your phone switched on before departure.

!
Arrange excess luggage before departure morning

Both current Inverness departures are three-day tours. If you have luggage that you are not taking with you, arrange storage before your tour wherever possible. Storage opening hours may not suit every early departure, so do not leave this until the last minute.

The tour meets outside Starbucks

You do not need to check in with Starbucks or wait inside the café. Your Scotland's Wild guide meets the group outside at the Rose Street location. Starbucks opening hours are independent of the tour and can change.

Departure Day Questions

Inverness Meeting Point FAQs

Where exactly do I meet my guide?

Meet outside Starbucks at Rose Street Retail Park:

Rose Street
Inverness
IV1 1NQ

Use the blue Google Maps directions button at the top of this page to navigate directly to Starbucks.

Is the old Home Bargains store still the landmark?

No. Some older Scotland's Wild information referred to Home Bargains beside the meeting point, but that store has moved from Rose Street.

Please use Starbucks at Rose Street Retail Park as your current landmark instead.

Is ///carry.rubble.foam the exact place I meet the guide?

Not quite.

///carry.rubble.foam is the verified what3words location for the entrance to the Rose Street Retail Park car park.

Once you enter the retail park, head to Starbucks. The Google Maps link at the top of this page targets the Starbucks meeting location.

How early should I arrive?

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure.

Your guide needs time to check everyone in before the vehicle leaves Inverness.

Do both Inverness tours leave at the same time?

No.

Our current Lewis & Harris and Orkney tours have slightly different check-in and departure times. Always use the details shown on your booking confirmation rather than assuming another Inverness tour has the same departure time.

What should I do if I am going to be late?

Call us as soon as you realise that you may not reach the meeting point in time.

Tours need to leave Inverness at their scheduled departure time. We cannot guarantee that the vehicle can wait, that you can join elsewhere or that another departure will be available.

What happens if I miss my tour?

Contact us immediately if the vehicle has already departed.

We will check whether any practical alternative exists, but joining the tour later or transferring to another departure cannot be guaranteed.

Missed departures and no-shows are subject to the cancellation terms applying to your booking.

Read the Terms & Conditions →
Can you collect me from my Inverness hotel?

Scheduled group tours use the fixed Rose Street meeting point rather than individual hotel collections.

Private tours can have different collection arrangements agreed as part of the itinerary.

Is there parking at the meeting point?

There is privately operated parking at Rose Street Retail Park, where the meeting point is located.

There is also a separate Highland Council Rose Street multi-storey car park nearby on Railway Terrace. It is currently open 24 hours a day and has no listed maximum stay, which can make it more relevant for multi-day parking.

Scotland's Wild does not operate either car park. Check current charges, restrictions and conditions directly with the operator before travelling.

Check Rose Street multi-storey information →
Can I leave my car in the retail-park car park for three days?

Do not assume that the Rose Street Retail Park car park is suitable for leaving a vehicle throughout a multi-day tour.

It is privately operated and its current terms apply. If you need multi-day parking, check a facility that specifically permits the length of stay you require.

Highland Council's nearby Rose Street multi-storey currently lists no maximum stay.

Are the railway and bus stations close to the meeting point?

Yes. Inverness railway station and Inverness Bus Station are both in the central area close to Rose Street.

Allow enough time to leave the station, find Rose Street Retail Park and locate Starbucks before your check-in time.

Can I store extra luggage at the meeting point?

No luggage-storage service is provided by Scotland's Wild at the Rose Street meeting point.

Both current Inverness departures are multi-day tours, so arrange storage for excess luggage before arriving for check-in.

If using a third-party luggage facility, check its opening hours carefully because they may not suit an early tour departure.

View luggage & storage information →
Will my tour finish back at Rose Street?

Yes. Both of our current scheduled 3-day tours from Inverness are designed to return to the original Inverness meeting area on Day 3.

The current expected return is approximately 5–6pm.

This is an approximate time. Both journeys involve ferry travel and can also be affected by weather, traffic, road conditions and other operational circumstances.

Should I book a train, flight or other connection immediately after the tour?

We recommend allowing plenty of time between the expected tour return and any fixed onward journey.

The Inverness tours involve island ferry crossings, so return times can be affected by ferry schedules, weather and road conditions.

Avoid tightly timed onward travel immediately after the scheduled 5–6pm return window.
