About Scotland’s Wild

Welcome to Your Adventure

Welcome to Scotland's Wild

We Want You to Experience Scotland — Not Just See It

Scotland is too extraordinary to experience entirely through a vehicle window.

We create small-group and private tours that give you time to get outside, explore remarkable places, hear the stories behind them and properly connect with the country you've travelled all this way to see.

From Highland glens and ancient castles to remote islands, beaches, standing stones and tiny villages, our aim is simple: to help you leave Scotland with stories, memories and a genuine connection to this place.

Why Scotland's Wild Exists

There Had to Be a Better Way to Tour Scotland

Scotland's Wild founder, John Stevenson, wanted visitors to have something more personal than the traditional generic coach tour.

That idea still shapes how we travel today.

We keep our scheduled groups small. We build time outside the vehicle into our itineraries. We choose places because they're worth experiencing, not simply because a coach can stop there. And we put guides at the centre of the journey, because Scotland becomes far more interesting when someone can bring its people, history and legends to life.

The result? Less time feeling like a passenger. More time feeling like you're actually in Scotland.
The Scotland's Wild Difference

How We Like to Explore Scotland

The places matter. But how you experience them matters just as much.

Small Groups

More Personal by Design

Scheduled tours are limited to a maximum of 16 travellers. That makes it easier to stop, explore, ask questions and actually get to know the people you're travelling with.

Active Sightseeing

Get Out Into the Landscape

We call it Active Sightseeing: short walks, beaches, woodland, viewpoints, historic sites and Highland landscapes experienced on foot rather than only through the window.

Expert Guides

Scotland Has Better Stories with a Guide

Landscapes become battles, legends, family stories, folklore and moments from thousands of years of history when the right person brings them to life.

Built with Care

We Actually Care How Your Trip Feels

From the people answering your questions before departure to the guide leading your adventure, we want the whole experience to feel thoughtful, personal and worth the time you've chosen to spend with us.

More Than Sightseeing

What Does Active Sightseeing Actually Mean?

It doesn't mean every tour is a hiking tour. It means making the most of being somewhere extraordinary.

01 Stop Somewhere Worth Stopping

We build routes around places that add something to the day — landscape, history, wildlife, culture or simply one of those views you remember for years.

02 Get Out of the Vehicle

Stretch your legs, follow a woodland path, walk along a beach, explore castle grounds or stand properly in the landscape rather than viewing it through glass.

03 Understand Where You Are

Your guide adds the history, characters, myths and local stories that turn somewhere beautiful into somewhere meaningful.

04 Share the Experience

Small groups mean more conversation, more interaction with your guide and often new friendships with the people sharing the adventure.

The People Behind the Tours

Guides Make the Difference

Founder John Stevenson built Scotland's Wild around a simple belief: visitors deserved a better, more personal way to explore Scotland than the generic tours he saw around him.

Today, that idea is carried by a growing team of guides and tour specialists who bring their own personality, favourite places, stories, humour and enthusiasm to every journey.

You'll hear history, certainly. But you'll also hear folklore, local stories, opinions, ridiculous facts and probably a fair amount of Scottish banter.

What Matters to Us

The Values Behind Scotland's Wild

01 Care

Your Scotland trip matters to you, so it matters to us. We want the experience to be excellent from your first question to the moment you return home.

02 Passion

We want to share why we love this country — its landscapes, history, culture, humour and people — and hopefully send you home loving it too.

03 Value

Value isn't about being the cheapest. It's about making the time and money you spend with us feel genuinely worthwhile.

04 Respect for Scotland

We want Scotland's landscapes, communities and remarkable places to remain worth exploring for generations to come. Experiencing the country should also mean treating it with care.

What Do Travellers Think?

Awards and ratings are useful, but the real measure of a tour is whether people go home happy they chose it. Thousands of travellers have now explored Scotland with our guides, and their feedback is one of the things we're most proud of.
