Know what you can bring, where to leave extra bags and how to arrive at check-in ready for a comfortable Scotland’s Wild journey.
Bring one tour bag. Store everything else before check-in.
Our small touring vehicles have carefully planned luggage capacity. Keeping every guest within the allowance makes the vehicle safer, more comfortable and easier to load each day.
The current scheduled-tour allowance is one medium suitcase or holdall per person, weighing no more than 15kg (33lb) and measuring approximately 56 × 43 × 25cm (22 × 17 × 10 inches).
You may also bring one small handbag-sized personal item. Please make sure you can lift and carry your own luggage.

Contact us before your tour if you have an oversized case, mobility equipment, sports equipment or another item outside this allowance. Space cannot be assumed at check-in.
Arrange storage before the morning of your tour.
The safest plan is to separate your tour luggage from everything you will not need, then store the extra bags before check-in—ideally the evening before an early departure.

Confirm the departure city, meeting point, check-in time and the city where your tour finishes.

Pack the clothing and essentials needed during the tour within the size and weight allowance.
Pre-book storage
Check availability, opening hours, collection time, identification rules and the provider’s terms.
Leave time to check in
Allow for queues and travel from storage to the meeting point. Your scheduled tour cannot wait for late arrivals.

Where to store extra luggage
Choose storage that works for both your departure and return—not simply the closest place to your hotel. Pre-booking is strongly recommended when availability matters.
Edinburgh
Edinburgh Waverley has a staffed left-luggage service operated by Excess Baggage Company. Other bookable storage and collection services operate around the city centre.
Plan for: Travel time from Waverley or your chosen facility to the exact tour meeting point.
Glasgow
Glasgow Central has a staffed left-luggage service operated by Excess Baggage Company. City-centre collection and storage providers offer additional options.
Plan for: Station access and service arrangements can change, so check the live station page before travel.
Inverness
Storage choices are more limited than in Edinburgh or Glasgow. Pre-book a local shop or hotel-based service, or confirm storage directly with your accommodation.
Do not assume: The current official ScotRail station listing does not identify passenger luggage storage, so do not rely on an unconfirmed station locker.

A day tour, multi-day journey and private booking each create slightly different practical questions.
Scheduled day tours
If you are changing hotels on tour day, do not assume a full suitcase can travel in the sightseeing vehicle. Store it first or contact us before arrival.
Scheduled multi-day tours
Pack one medium tour bag within the stated allowance and store larger cases or onward-travel luggage until your tour finishes.
Private tours
Capacity depends on group size, vehicle and itinerary. Tell us the number and approximate size of every bag so we can confirm what will fit.
Check the final destination on the tour page and booking confirmation before arranging storage. A facility near your departure point is not useful if your journey ends elsewhere.

What is the luggage allowance on a scheduled Scotland’s Wild tour?

Why is there a luggage limit?
Our small touring vehicles have limited luggage capacity and must remain within safe legal weight limits. A clear allowance also helps every guest travel comfortably and keeps daily loading efficient.
Can I bring a larger or heavier suitcase?
Do not assume it can be accommodated. Contact us with the dimensions and weight before your tour. If we cannot safely carry it, you will need to store it separately.
Should I store extra luggage the evening before?
Where the provider allows it, this is usually the safest option for an early tour. It avoids a storage queue, transport delay or unfamiliar address making you late for check-in.
Can my hotel store my luggage?
Many hotels will hold bags for guests before check-in or after check-out, and some may agree to longer storage. Ask the property directly and confirm the dates, collection time, cost and whether overnight storage is permitted.
Can I leave luggage with Scotland’s Wild while I travel?
Do not plan on using a tour vehicle or meeting point as a storage facility outside your booked journey. Arrange independent storage for bags you are not taking, or contact us in advance if you have an exceptional requirement.
What should stay in my personal bag?
Keep passports, essential medication, money, bank cards, keys, electronics and booking information with you. Do not leave irreplaceable or time-critical items in stored luggage.
What if I have mobility or medical equipment?
Contact us before booking or as early as possible before travel. Tell us the type, folded dimensions and weight of the equipment so we can assess vehicle space and help you plan safely.
How should I choose a storage provider?
Check the exact address, opening and collection hours for both dates, live availability, identification requirements, cancellation terms, insurance or liability limits and recent customer reviews. Choose a collection time with a comfortable buffer after your expected return.
What if my tour starts and finishes in different cities?
Confirm the final city before booking storage. Depending on your wider trip, you may need hotel storage, a luggage-transfer service or a facility in the city where you will return after the tour.
