Frequently Asked Questions

To book a space on one of our single or multi day group tours, simply click on the tour you’d like to enjoy (Click here for Group Tours)

From there, select the date you’d like to start your tour and click book. This will then take you through to a secure booking page for you to input your details and secure your tour date

To book either a fully Private Multi Day Vacation crafter especially for you or a 1 Day Exploration with pick up and drop of at your Accommodation, simply send an email to info@scotlandswild.com

As the weather can be unpredictable at times in Scotland, for your day tour we recommend you bring light waterproof clothing and sturdy hiking boots or shoes. You may also want to bring midge repellent as during certain times of year (primarily April - September) the midges may irritate you. If you’re lucky enough to get a nice sunny day, then some sun cream would be great. If it’s during the colder months, then some warm clothing, gloves and a hat may also be useful.

We ask all clients to arrive at least 15 minutes early for your trip around Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National park, this ensures a prompt departure. If you’re going to be late, get in touch as soon as possible on +44 1389 513467 and we will see about getting you on anther tour if there is availability. This is not a guarantee though

For our daily group tours we meet all clients at the tour start locations. No pick up service is offered

If you have a Fully Private Tour booked then we will arrange to have you picked up and dropped off from your accommodation anywhere in Scotland

For Balloch Tour Departures there is free public parking at the Tour Start location

For Glasgow and Edinburgh, there are parking facilities within walking distance, though these are private companies or local councils and will charge for parking

As you explore Scotland, there will be plenty of locations to stop to use the facilities. We won’t ever be that far away. In some locations there may be a small charge for the use of the bathroom, set by local authorities to help with the upkeep of the facility

For our scheduled Group Tours, we have a minimum age limit of 12 years old.

If you have children under 12 who you’d like to take on a Day Tour, we recommend getting in touch info@scotlandswild.com and asking about a fully private tour for you and your group.

There will be no need to bring any lunch as you’ll be stopping off at a lovely wee place in the Highlands for some lunch

On the daily group Tours, there is space for everyone to have a rucksack or handbag so you can carry your essentials. If you have a suitcase or any form of larger luggage, then do get in touch before booking to find out if we still have space to store it during your trip

If you are late for your tour, the cancellation policy will apply. If on the day, you believe you will be late, do get in touch as soon as possible on +44 1389 513467 and we will see about getting you on anther tour if there is availability. This is not a guarantee though

Any cancellation for our Single or Multi Day Group Tours , 8 or more days before the tour start day, you will be issued a full refund

Cancelling between 4 and 7 days before the tour start date you will be issued a 50% refund and cancelling within 3 days of the tour, full payment is needed

For Fully Private Tours of any duration, More than 56 days before the start date of your Private Tour, you must pay 25% of your total price

From 56 to 31 days before the start date of the Private Tour, you must pay 50% of your total price

30 days or less, including on the day of the Private Tour, you must pay 100% of your total price

We don’t provide travel insurance, though we highly recommend taking out appropriate travel insurance for any vacation to Scotland

Very simply put, our Guaranteed Departure for our 1 day, Group Tours, Guarantees that as soon as 2 clients book onto a day tour, then the tour will be Guaranteed to go out and explore Scotland from either Inverness, Edinburgh, Glasgow or Balloch.

For our Multi-day, group tours of more than 1 day, Our Guaranteed Departure policy is as soon as 4 clients book onto a tour, then then our tour will go out and explore Scotland from our Edinburgh, Inverness and Glasgow start locations

We chose not to include entry fees to our daily single or multi day group tours to allow each client the freedom to choose if they’d like to go into each location as we explore Scotland

What size are your vehicles?

All our Group Tour Vehicles are 9 seater , fully air conditioned and modern to ensure a comfortable “Extra Small Group” touring experience.

Can I book a specific seat on the vehicle?

Seats are not able to be pre-booked

Are there toilets on the vehicle?

There are no toilets on the vehicle though there are many opportunities to stop for bathroom breaks as you explore

Can I take food or drink onto the vehicle?

We allow bottled drinks, hot drinks with a secure lid and cold food onto the vehicle

Are there charging ports on the vehicle?

Yes, there are a limited number of

Our Tour Guides will be taking you to some remote and off the beaten track location in the Scottish Highlands and there is a chance you may not have a signal

As you explore Scotland you will have the flexibility to enjoy Scotland as you choose, if you’d prefer to relax in the vehicle or sit and simply enjoy the views and not enter a site or pay at a Castle or Cruise, this is completely up to you
