Arrive at pick-up spot for 7:15am, depart at 7:30am from Edinburgh.
Departing Edinburgh, our journey begins by traveling straight to the Highlands of Scotland, via the spectacular scenery of Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park.
The landscape will change quickly and dramatically from the sprawling cityscape of Edinburgh to open farmland, to the towering, steep-sided mountains of the Highlands of Scotland.
Continuing the journey north, we exit the national park and travel for one of the last remaining wildernesses in Scotland, Glencoe. This world-famous location does not disappoint, with incredible mountain scenery and a vastness like nowhere else in the country.
Soak up the views of Rannoch Moor and the Three Sisters of Glencoe, before we make our way for the outdoor capital of Scotland, Fort William, where the Jacobite Steam Train awaits.
Boarding the Harry Potter train, enjoy the enchanting journey through glorious scenery made famous in the Harry Potter Movies and cross over the magnificent Glenfinnan Viaduct. The location of the wonderful flying car scene from the Chamber of Secrets.
When the train grinds to a halt at the end of the line, disembark at the beautiful fishing town of Mallaig, where your guide will collect you and you'll begin travelling back towards Fort William.
Along the way, we'll stretch our legs with a short hike to the spectacular silver sands of Morar. This pristine white sand will make it very hard to believe that you're still in Scotland and not Barbados.
From here, we'll continue on and briefly stop by the Glenfinnan Monument, dedicated to the Jacobite Leader, Bonnie Prince Charlie. This is where you'll learn about the history of the 1745 Jacobite Uprisings and how it all came to a tragic end.
After the Glenfinnan Monument, we'll travel to Fort William where you'll spend the night.

Loch Ness Cruise

The Hermitage Waterfall
Departing Fort William, we travel north towards the most famous body of water in Scotland, Loch Ness.
Be on the lookout on your cruise as you search for the mysterious creature that lurks in these waters, Nessie might well make an appearance.
After enjoying your cruise, we’ll travel east towards the largest national park in Scotland, the Cairngorms National Park.
At the National Nature Reserve of Creag Meagaidh, we’ll take a short hike around this fascinating landscape.
From here, we journey south through the Highlands to go for a gorgeous woodland walk to then visit some beautiful waterfalls.
After visiting these waterfalls, you’ll then travel towards Edinburgh where you’ll travel over the Queensferry crossing bridge where you’ll here the story behind the Forth Road Bridges before ending your 2 day Highlands Tour in Edinburgh.
Tour ends in Edinburgh around 7-8pm.

We do this so that you have the option of choosing accommodation to suit your budget.
Fort William has a selection of accommodation, ranging from Youth Hostels, Bed and Breakfasts to 3 and 4 Star hotels.
We have 2 options for booking Accommodation for your 2 Day Tour
1. We can book it for you on your behalf. We have a supply of accommodation pre-booked with some trusted accommodation partners. We have a selection of Twin, Double, Single and Family Rooms available.
2. You can choose to book your own accommodation. Before doing this, please get in touch and ask what where we will be staying for your chosen dates so that you can book accommodation in an appropriate location.
Accommodation will need to be booked within 3km of our chosen accommodation location as we may not be able to collect and drop off from further away than this.

An unforgettable day!
Our family was staying in Edinburgh but wanted to ride the Jacobite/Harry Potter train. We reached out to Scotland’s Wild and they were incredible from start to finish. They were very responsive and managed to get us first class seats on the best side of the train. As the trip got closer they were in contact several times to make sure we had all the details worked out.
On the day of our trip our guide Derek arrived on time with a smile for our personal pick up. The vehicle was comfortable and clean. Derek made the long trip very entertaining. He stuck with us the whole time and even took us to the beach during our stop. We felt well taken care of. Derek was knowledgeable and friendly.

Fabulous bucket list 10 day private tour of Scotland
We happily managed to book John for a 10 day private tour of Scotland. It would be my 4th trip to Scotland and my partner's first time. John asked me what would be my dream trip, and I threw a huge list at him, and amazingly he was able to plan an itinerary that included almost all of the list! He made all the hotel, b&b, and restaurant reservations. We traveled from Edinburgh to Skye, Mull, Iona, Lewis and Harris, and Orkney. Stayed at some beautiful B&B's/hotels and 1 night in a luxury castle. Wonderful scenery, stone circles, and animals (deer, birds, sheep, seals, horses and shetland ponies, hairy cows, hairy pigs in Orkney). LOVED the Calanais Standing Stones. Since we are Harry Potter fans he booked us a trip on the "Hogwarts Express" train. He was very informative and took good care of my partner who is limited in physical capability. His van is very clean and comfortable. He is a very caring guide who does his best to make your trip the best it can be! We give John and his tour company the highest recommendation possible! Wonderful Small Group Tour
Loch Ness & Highlands guided tour from Edinburgh was excellent. There were 7 people on the tour. It was a beautiful day and our Guide, Derek, was exceptional. He kept us informed as we traveled along and he told us the history of some of the areas (e.g., clan feuds). He is also knowledgeable in ecology and geology and has spent time in many of the areas hiking, climbing and learning about the sites. He explained how public lands are owned and managed for preservation and conservation. The trip was excellent, and we hope to come back for another excursion in the future.

We will be going for some short walks in the Highlands and the terrain can vary and the ground can be uneven and slippery. Before booking, please ask yourself, Can I and everyone in my group comfortably walk for 45 minutes on uneven ground?

What should I bring on the 2 Day Harry Potter Train & Loch Ness Group Tour from Edinburgh?
As the weather can be unpredictable at times in Scotland, for your day tour we recommend you bring light waterproof clothing and sturdy hiking boots or shoes. You may also want to bring midge repellent as during certain times of year (primarily April - September) the midges may irritate you. If you’re lucky enough to get a nice sunny day, then some sun cream would be great. If it’s during the colder months, then some warm clothing, gloves and a hat may also be useful.

Will there be plenty of bathroom breaks?
During your 2 Day Harry Potter Train & Loch Ness Group Tour, there will be many stops to use the restrooms in the Highlands of Scotland. There are also restrooms on your Loch Ness Cruise. You will never be far away from a bathroom stop

Should I tip my Scotland Tour Guide/Driver?

What’s your Multi-Day Tour Cancellation Policy?
Any cancellation for our 2 Day Harry Potter Train & Loch Ness Group Tour, 8 or more days before the tour start day, you will be issued a 90% Refund. Cancelling 7 days or less, you must pay 100% of your total booking price. In the event of not showing up for your multi-day group tour, you will be charged 100% of the cost
