Departure from Edinburgh: 7:30amDeparting Edinburgh, our journey begins by travelling straight to the Highlands of Scotland. The landscape will change quickly and dramatically from the cityscape of Edinburgh to open farmland, to the towering, steep-sided mountains of the Highlands of Scotland.
Our first stop is The Hermitage, where you'll enjoy a peaceful woodland walk through towering trees to a cascading waterfall – the perfect introduction to Scotland's natural beauty!
Continuing our adventure, we'll visit the quaint Highland town of Pitlochry. Stroll its picturesque streets, browse local shops, or grab a coffee during your time here.
Next, we head to Creag Meagaidh National Nature Reserve, a haven for wildlife and breathtaking scenery. Keep an eye out for the iconic Highland cows as we pause to admire the rugged landscape!
From here, the journey takes us west to Fort William, the outdoor capital of Scotland, where the Jacobite Steam Train awaits. Boarding the Harry Potter train, enjoy the enchanting journey through glorious scenery made famous in the Harry Potter Movies and cross over the magnificent Glenfinnan Viaduct. The location of the wonderful flying car scene from the Chamber of Secrets!
When the train grinds to a halt at the end of the line, disembark at the beautiful fishing town of Mallaig, where your guide will collect you and you'll begin travelling back towards Fort William.
Along the way, we'll stretch our legs with a short hike to the spectacular Silver Sands of Morar. This pristine white sand will make it very hard to believe that you're still in Scotland and not Barbados!
From here, we'll continue and stop by the Glenfinnan Monument, dedicated to the Jacobite Leader, Bonnie Prince Charlie. This is where you'll learn about the history of the 1745 Jacobite Uprisings and how it all came to a tragic end.
After the Glenfinnan Monument, we'll travel to Fort William where you'll spend the night.

After departing Fort William, we head north to our first stop, Loch Ness. You’ll embark on a scenic cruise across its mysterious waters, keeping your eyes peeled for Nessie, the legendary Loch Ness Monster!
We’ll then journey south through the awe-inspiring Glencoe and make a stop at the iconic Three Sisters, one of Scotland’s most dramatic landscapes. Take in the towering peaks and the history of this glen, made famous for its natural beauty and the tragic Glencoe Massacre.
Next, we’ll visit the village of Killin, set amidst breathtaking scenery. You’ll have time to wander around the village and admire the Falls of Dochart, a truly picture-perfect spot!
Continuing south, we’ll make a brief stop in the historic town of Callander, often referred to as the gateway to the Highlands. This bustling little town is a great place to stretch your legs.
Our final stop of the day is a visit to Doune Castle, an iconic medieval fortress. Take a walk around its surroundings, and learn about its appearances in Outlander, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Game of Thrones.
After an incredible 2nd day exploring the Highlands, we’ll return to Edinburgh with memories to last a lifetime!

We have 2 options for booking Accommodation for your 2 Day Tour
1. We can book it for you on your behalf. We have a supply of accommodation pre-booked with some trusted accommodation partners. We have a selection of Twin, Double, Single and Family Rooms available.
2. You can choose to book your own accommodation. Before doing this, please get in touch and ask what where we will be staying for your chosen dates so that you can book accommodation in an appropriate location.
Accommodation will need to be booked within 3km of our chosen accommodation location as we may not be able to collect and drop off from further away than this.

We will be going for some short walks in the Highlands and the terrain can vary and the ground can be uneven and slippery. What should I bring on the 2 Day Harry Potter Train & Loch Ness Group Tour from Edinburgh?
As the weather can be unpredictable at times in Scotland, for your day tour we recommend you bring light waterproof clothing and sturdy hiking boots or shoes. You may also want to bring midge repellent as during certain times of year (primarily April - September) the midges may irritate you. If you’re lucky enough to get a nice sunny day, then some sun cream would be great. If it’s during the colder months, then some warm clothing, gloves and a hat may also be useful.

We recommend not bringing a car as it can be difficult to get parking in Edinburgh. There are private parking facilities in Edinburgh that fill up quickly and there is some on street parking, all have a charge. Best way to get around Edinburgh is on foot or public transport

Can I take luggage with me during my 2 Day Harry Potter Train & Loch Ness Group Tour?
Due to safety and size limitations as we tour, we are limited on the quantity and size of luggage you're able to bring on tour.
The maximum weight per person is 20Kg (44lbs) with dimensions of approx 70cm x 48 x 33 (27inch x 19 x 13). You will also be able to take a small handbag-sized bag for your personal items.Please ensure you can lift and carry your own luggage.

Will there be plenty of bathroom breaks?
During your 2 Day Harry Potter Train & Loch Ness Group Tour, there will be many stops to use the restrooms in the Highlands of Scotland. There are also restrooms on your Loch Ness Cruise. You will never be far away from a bathroom stop
Should I tip my Scotland Tour Guide/Driver?

What’s your Multi-Day Tour Cancellation Policy?
Any cancellation for our 2 Day Loch Ness Group Tour, 16 or more days before the tour start day, you will be issued a 90% Refund. Cancelling 15 days or less, you must pay 100% of your total booking price. In the event of not showing up for your multi-day group tour, you will be charged 100% of the cost
