A whole day for Skye
From the Old Man of Storr area to Fairy Glen, spend day two discovering the island with your guide.
Two nights on the island
Stay in Portree for both nights, with evenings free to find dinner and enjoy the harbour town at your own pace.
The journey is part of it
Glencoe on the way north. Eilean Donan and Loch Ness on the way home. There is more to this trip than one destination.
A guided minibus tour with road travel, short walks and outdoor stops. Expect uneven ground and walks of up to around an hour. Ask us about the pace or accessibility.

Day 1 Edinburgh → Portree
Into the Highlands
Leave the city behind as the road leads through Loch Lomond & The Trossachs, across Rannoch Moor and into Glencoe. There is time to step out, take in the mountains and hear the stories behind the scenery.
The route & overnight stop
After collecting guests in Glasgow, continue north through Glencoe and the Fort William area, then cross the Skye Bridge to Portree. Explore around Glencoe Visitor Centre and its Turf & Creel House along the way. The evening is yours in Portree.

Day 2 A full day on Skye
An island full of surprises
Jagged rock, open sea and green hills shaped into curious folds. Explore the Old Man of Storr area, Kilt Rock and Mealt Falls, Duntulm and Fairy Glen, with your guide connecting the places and their stories.
Island stops & seasonal visits
The route also includes Dunvegan Castle when it is open, normally April to October. The order of stops depends on conditions and opening times. Return to Portree for another evening on the island.

Day 3 Portree → Edinburgh
Castles, lochs & the road home
Cross back to the mainland for Eilean Donan Castle, then follow the Great Glen towards Loch Ness. Pause beside the water in Fort Augustus before a final journey through the Highlands and Perthshire.
The route & return time
There may be time for an optional Loch Ness cruise, paid separately. The route includes a short walk in the Creag Meagaidh area and a stop in Pitlochry. Return to Edinburgh is usually around 19:00–20:00; leave extra time for onward travel.

Settle into the same island base for both nights. We work with local accommodation partners and arrange your stay separately from the tour booking.

Travelling solo or need a specific room?
We aim to arrange a single room for solo travellers. If availability is limited, we may offer a twin room shared with another guest of the same gender. If sharing is not suitable for you, please contact us before booking so we can discuss the options.
Deposits, balance payments and cancellation
A 25% deposit is available on eligible bookings. The remaining balance is normally due 15 days before departure. For a departure coming up soon, check the amount due now in the booking system before you pay.
Our published multi-day cancellation guidance states: cancellations 16 days or more before departure receive a 90% refund of the total tour cost; for cancellations 15 days or less before departure, 100% of the tour cost is payable.

Ask our friendly teamHow much walking is involved?
Short walks can last up to around an hour and may cross uneven ground. Bring sturdy footwear and waterproof clothing. If you have mobility needs or concerns about the pace, contact us before booking so we can discuss this route with you.
Can children join?
The minimum age on this tour is 12. Enter adults and young travellers aged 12–17 separately in the booking calendar so that it can show the correct fare.
How much luggage can I bring?
Bring one bag up to 15 kg, approximately 56 × 43 × 25 cm, plus a small personal bag. Minibus luggage space is limited. Contact us before travelling if you need to discuss additional luggage.
What should I wear and bring?
Bring layers, a waterproof jacket, sturdy comfortable footwear, drinking water and any personal essentials for three days. The weather can change quickly, even in summer.
Will we visit every stop in the itinerary?
Stops may change with the weather, road conditions and opening times. Dunvegan Castle is normally open April to October. Optional attraction visits and cruises depend on availability and are paid separately.
