Experience Scotland’s Wild – Affiliate Partner Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 12/12/25

These Affiliate Partner Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) set out how our affiliate programme works and how commission is earned and paid.

By promoting Experience Scotland’s Wild and using your unique affiliate tracking link, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who we are

“We”, “us”, “our” means Experience Scotland’s Wild (“ESW”).

“You”, “your” means the affiliate partner (individual or organisation) who has been accepted into our affiliate programme and provided with a unique tracking link and/or Partner account in Checkfront.

2. Commission rate

Our standard commission rate is 10% of the net tour price actually paid by the guest, excluding booking fees, card fees, add-ons, tips, and any taxes that are not part of our retained revenue.

Commission is calculated per booking that is correctly attributed to you via:

  • your unique affiliate link; and/or

  • your assigned Partner ID in Checkfront.

We reserve the right to offer different commission rates for special campaigns or specific partners, but this will always be agreed with you in writing (usually by email).

3. What counts as a payable booking

You earn commission only on completed, paid tours.

A booking is commissionable when all of the following are true:

  • The customer has booked using a link or method that correctly attributes the booking to you (via your Partner ID / affiliate link in Checkfront).

  • The tour has departed and been completed.

  • The booking has a final status of PAID and/or COMPLETED in Checkfront after the tour date.

  • No full refund has been issued.

No commission is due on:

  • Cancelled bookings

  • Bookings that are fully refunded

  • Bookings where payment has failed or been reversed

  • Complimentary / free of charge bookings that we issue at our discretion

If a booking you were previously paid commission on is later refunded or charged back, we reserve the right to deduct the overpaid commission from your next payout or ask you to repay the difference.

4. Payout cadence and minimum threshold

Payout frequency: We pay commission monthly, on or around the 1st of each month, for tours that took place in the previous calendar month.

Example: Tours completed in March are normally paid on or around 1 April.

Minimum payout: The minimum payout amount is £50.

If your total payable commission for a month is below £50, it will roll over to the next month(s) until your accrued commission reaches at least £50.

Payment method: Payments are usually made by bank transfer (or another method agreed with you in writing). You are responsible for providing accurate payout details and keeping them up to date.

We are not responsible for delays caused by incorrect payment details, bank issues, or public holidays.

5. Discount codes and how they affect commission

We know discount codes can help you convert more bookings, but they also affect our margins. To keep things sustainable, the following applies:

Default model (no discount)

  • By default, affiliates receive 10% commission and no automatic discount is applied for the customer.

  • Commission is calculated on the full net tour price the guest pays.

Using a discount code

If we agree to give you a public discount code for your audience (e.g. “SCOTLAND10”), commission will be calculated on the discounted price actually paid by the guest.

We may also agree to reduce the commission rate for discounted bookings, so that the combined discount + commission remains commercially viable.

Any such adjusted rate will be agreed with you in writing in advance.

Commission/discount split (flexible option)

In some cases, we may offer you the choice to split margin between discount and commission, for example (purely as examples, not promises):

  • 10% commission, 0% discount

  • 5% commission, 5% discount

The exact split will be agreed case-by-case and confirmed by email. If nothing else is agreed, the default is 10% commission and 0% discount.

Stacking discounts

If a guest applies an additional promotional discount (e.g. sale, voucher, or promo we are running), we reserve the right to calculate commission on the final net amount and/or reduce the commission rate where heavy discounts apply.

In short:

  • Default: 10% commission, no discount.

  • If you use a discount code: commission is based on the discounted price, and we may lower the commission percentage for those bookings, as agreed in writing.

6. Tracking, attribution and partner dashboards

Bookings are tracked using:

  • Your unique affiliate links (including parameters such as partner_id and discount code); and/or

  • Your Partner account and associated Partner ID in Checkfront.

A booking will be attributed to you when:

  • The customer starts their booking journey via your unique link; and

  • Our system successfully records your Partner ID on the booking in Checkfront.

You are responsible for using the correct link(s) that we provide. We are not liable for:

  • Bookings made through incorrect or altered links

  • Guests who clear cookies, switch devices, or book through a different channel

You will be given access to a Partner / Affiliate dashboard within Checkfront so you can see bookings and commission attributed to you.

If there is ever a dispute about whether a booking should be attributed to you, our Checkfront records and logs will be treated as the deciding reference.

7. Your responsibilities as an affiliate

By joining our programme, you agree to:

  • Promote Experience Scotland’s Wild honestly and accurately.

  • Not make false or misleading claims about our tours, pricing, inclusions, or policies.

  • Not bid on our brand terms in paid search (e.g. Google Ads) without prior written permission.

  • Not present yourself as acting “on behalf of” Experience Scotland’s Wild (you are a referrer, not our employee).

  • Comply with all applicable advertising, consumer protection and disclosure laws in your jurisdiction (e.g. clearly marking affiliate content as such where required).

We reserve the right to withhold or cancel commission and/or remove you from the programme if we believe you are acting in bad faith or in a way that could harm our reputation.

8. Term, termination and changes

Either you or we may end your participation in the affiliate programme at any time, for any reason, by giving written notice (email is fine).

If the programme is ended, you will still be paid:

  • Commission on any eligible, completed tours that were booked before termination,

subject to the normal rules in these Terms.ends

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website or on request. Continued participation in the programme after changes are made will be treated as acceptance of the updated Terms.

9. Limitation of liability

Our liability to you in connection with the affiliate programme is limited to the commission actually earned and unpaid under these Terms.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, loss of profit, or loss of opportunity arising from your participation in the programme.

10. Law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
