Clan MacDonald, also known as Clan Donald, is a proud and ancient Scottish Highland clan with a rich history. The clan motto of Clan MacDonald is "Per mare per terras" which means "By sea and by land." This motto reflects the clan's strength and versatility, as they were not only skilled warriors but also successful seafarers.

The clan crest of Clan MacDonald is a hand holding a cross crosslet, symbolising the clan's Christian faith and dedication to the Church.
