Fantastic Day in Scotland
My friend and I took the 1-day Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park Tour from Balloch on September 15th and had a wonderful time. I cannot say enough good things about John. One never knows how spending the day with a "stranger" will go, but it felt more like spending the day with a comfortable friend showing us his favourite places. John was personable, easy-going, and full of knowledge about the area and some of the stories that go along with it. The day was a great combination of driving and hiking up to see wonderful views. I highly recommend Scotland's Wild, and in fact I so enjoyed the day that my dream is now to return to Scotland some day with my family and spend a week touring the country with a trip organized by John of Scotland's Wild.

Fun & Efficient Way to Explore Loch Lomond & Trossachs
I recently travelled to Scotland to explore the entire country over a two-week period, which was a lot of ground to cover in a short amount of time! One of my concerns about going to Loch Lomond & Trossachs was my limited time to see everything, so I booked a tour in hopes of getting the most of out the park with only one day budgeted to do so. It was worth every penny! I've done ecotourism across multiple continents and this was by far one of my favourite tours I've done. This package allowed for a great experience because it was a small group trip that hit the best sites in the park with a knowledgeable guide.
As someone who likes to observe nature, I despise large tour groups. You tend to miss out on seeing animals when you have to wait on large numbers of people lagging behind at the bathrooms. And let's face it, they generally scare animals off because they're loud. My group for this tour consisted of myself, my mother, and our tour guide - that's it! We got to move at our own pace and we generally beat a lot of the crowds in popular areas early on in the day. This was perfect and allowed us to hit a lot of spots making the most of our time - something you just can't do with a group of fifty people.
Our guide for this trip was Derek and he was fantastic! He was incredibly personable, polite, and extremely knowledgeable on everything from Scotland's geology and wildlife to history. When he found we had extra time in our schedule, he stopped at additional places along the route. He also went above and beyond and checked the nutritional information on the whiskey that was provided and the menu at the restaurant ahead of time after I e-mailed the company to inquire about gluten-free availability since I have Celiac Disease. Guides make a huge difference in your experience and you can tell Derek loves his job and the wild places he gets to work in.
I could not recommend this tour company more!

AMAZING TOUR, EXTRAORDINARY GUIDE OF LOCK LOMOND AND TROSSACHS NATIONAL PARK
We did the tour with Derek who was extraordinary! Professional and a true Scot that knows Scotland's history! Extended family of 5 with 2 elderly that could not do hikes. Derek created a bespoke adventure perfectly combining everyone’s requests so that our somewhat-young and old could enjoy together. The 9 hour tour was exciting every minute...that there was no naps! Every corner we were in awe. Beautiful memories and a new found love of the history of Scotland that will live in our hearts. Will return to experience the other tours very soon! PS: Derek....thank you for fulfilling my special request...SHEEP!!!!

Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park Guided, Group, Day Tour Departing from Balloch
Your wonderful day exploring Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park will begin with a trip to the eastern side of Loch Lomond. Here you’ll take in a lovely hike around the waterfront before heading to explore some fantastic views to see where the Highlands meet the Lowlands, and over some of the islands on Loch Lomond, including the national nature reserve of Inchcailloch.
Departing east Loch Lomond, you’ll travel towards Aberfoyle, the fairy capital of the UK where you’ll hear about it’s legendary minister and his adventures with the fairies. Traveling up the east side of Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park you’ll watch in awe as the land transforms in front of you, as you enter the dramatic land of the Trossachs. Meet some of the Scotland’s very own, cute and cuddly, hairy Highland Coos (Cows)
The Trossachs boasts spectacular scenery with mountainous glens, glorious lochs and a rich culture and heritage. So, it makes sense for you to enjoy all of that as you go for a short hike in the land once roamed by one of Scotland’s most infamous outlaw’s, Rob Roy MacGregor. Was he the bad guy that everyone thinks?
After your second hike of the day, you’ll take a spectacular drive through the northern section of Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park where you’ll get the chance to enjoy some breath-taking waterfalls before you begin to journey south along the western banks of Loch Lomond.
Be sure to keep your eyes open for the chance to spot some of Scotland’s fines wildlife, such as Britain’s largest wild land animal, the majestic Red Deer, our cute and furry Red Squirrels, or the majestic Golden Eagles. But, as always with wildlife, you’ll have to keep your eyes peeled as they can be a wee bitty shy.
After an already wonderful day, your final stop will be the historic village of Luss. Here you will explore where Vikings once roamed, and learn how they managed to venture so far inland, before taking in one last spectacular viewpoint over the glorious land of Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park
The Loch Lomond and the Trossachs guided group Tour may be explored in reverse.
