    Well let’s grab a pen and mark check, check, check on that list as today will be the day you’re going to get all these wonderful Scottish bucket list items marked off that notepad

    After departing Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city and one that’s full of character, a great music scene and plenty of wonderful restaurants, your guide will take you north to the historic city of Stirling. This is your chance to visit Stirling Castle, a notably prominent feature on the skyline steeped in some of the most magnificent history in the country. It’s believed to have been besieged at least 16 times and changed hands many times during the Wars of Independence. (Think Braveheart) You’ll have the “Freeeeeeedommmm” to explore the castle and could even join one of their scheduled tours led by the expert Castle guides.

    Once you’ve had your fill of history, your wonderful tour guide will whisk you over to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park to experience the grand Scottish Highlands. You’ll witness the Highland boundary fault line, the area of Scotland where the Scottish Lowlands and Highlands crashed together millions of years ago. You’ll get the opportunity to get out for a lovely short walk and experience the breath-taking Highland landscape in all its glory. Your guide will fill you in on some of the wonderful history of the area, explain about the wildlife, the local culture and what makes Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park such a special place.

    What a tour you’ve had so far, you’ve covered your history at Stirling, your magnificent Highlands Landscape at Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, now’s the time for the tasty part of the tour, a delicious Highland Whisky Distillery.

    Your guide will take you over to Glengoyne Distillery where if you choose, you can take a tour and learn all about “uisge beatha” Gaelic for “water of life” You’ll hear about the entire whisky making process and even get to delight your taste buds with a wee dram or two

    So, after having a wonderful day tour experiencing a diverse range of what Scotland has to offer, your guide will wish you farewell and take you back to Glasgow for you to continue your Great Scottish Adventure.

    Before booking on to our tour, please remember that this is an Active Sightseeing tour and might not be for everyone. We will be going for a hike of approx. 1 hour and will possibly be hiking up hill for roughly half that time. Before booking on, please ask yourself, Can I and everyone in my group comfortably walk for up to 1 hour?

    What should I bring on my Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond & Distiller Day Tour?

    As the weather can be unpredictable at time in Scotland, for your day tour we recommend you bring light waterproof clothing and sturdy hiking boots or shoes. You may also want to bring midge repellent as during certain times of year (primarily April - September) the midges may irritate you. If you’re lucky enough to get a nice sunny day, then some sun cream would be great. If it’s during the colder months, then some warm clothing, gloves and a hat may also be useful.

    We don’t include price of entry for the Whisky Distillery or Stirling Castle as it allows you the flexibility to travel as you enjoy. At some distilleries there’s the option of which tasting tour to enjoy and the quantity of whisky provided depending on what you’re comfortable paying. We’ve found that clients enjoy different quantities of whisky and different tour options.

    Should I tip my Scotland Tour Guide/Driver?

    If you believe your Scotland Tour Guide/Driver provided you with a great touring experience then I know they will always appreciate a wee bonus, though it is completely up to you on how much you tip or if you’d like to provide one

    What’s your Day Tour Cancellation Policy?

    Any cancellation for our Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond & Highland Whisky Distillery Day Tour, 8 or more days before the tour start day, you will be issued a full refund. Cancelling between 4 and 7 days before the tour start date you will be issued a 50% refund and cancelling within 3 days of the tour, full payment is taken.
